Surviving the Bam Earthquake with Ruth Millington

Tune in to today’s episode as we chat with Ruth Millington, a survivor of Iran’s 2003 Bam earthquake. Realizing that she wasn't satisfied with her office job as a lawyer, Ruth ditched the 9-5 schedule and began her life as a nomad. After years of globetrotting, an unusual urge drew Ruth to Iran-- little did she know this trip would change her life forever. Awoken in the early morning by a weird sensation, Ruth and her friend were hit by the 6.5 magnitude earthquake.

Since the life-altering disaster, Ruth discloses her struggle dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and how this experience motivated her to go back to Iran and help orphaned children from the disaster. This harrowing, but inspirational story is sure to tug at your heartstrings.

Zoe Taylor is the co-owner of Walk Patagonia, a boutique adventure tour operator based in ​​El Chaltén, Argentina. Originally from the UK, Zoe spent a few years of her childhood in Latin America, and her connection to the area never waivered. After a few years of globetrotting, Zoe returned to Latin America as an English tour guide before settling down in Patagonia. The endless adventure opportunities, the unique culture, and the delicious yerba mate were all Zoe needed to make the leap.

Cycling the Camino Frances with Karin

On this episode we catch up with 10Adventures Podcast co-host, Karin who is now 1,720 km into her incredible European bike tour. This latest stage of Karin’s trip had her riding the beautiful Camino Frances, which she joined in Pamplona Spain and rode to the famous Santiago de Compostela. 

The Camino Frances is the most popular of the Camino routes to Santiago, officially starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port before crossing over the border into Spain through the Pyrenees and continuing through several provinces in Northern Spain to reach Santiago.
