One of the longest cycle tours in the world, the epic 4-month expedition travels through 10 countries in eastern Africa, from Cairo to Cape Town. With little cycling experience, Kristen took on this challenge at the age of 22, learning the ropes along the way. Letting fear propel her, Kristen successfully completed the extensive bike tour. On this episode, we welcome back Jonathan Skinnider to the podcast, who shares with us his most recent backcountry skiing adventure near Nelson, British Columbia. Setting out for a beautiful day of backcountry skiing with a friend, Jonathan took a fall in a secluded mountain basin– ultimately breaking his ankle. Luckily, Jonathan had set up his Garmin inReach, a satellite communicator, the day before heading out to the mountains, enabling him to easily alert Search and Rescue, who ultimately deployed a helicopter rescue.

Motivated by the ever-changing topographies and breathtaking scenery, notably along the North Shore of Lake Superior, Jacob and his friends made it all the way to the Maritimes before encountering a roadblock, literally.
